MOTE - Marine Laboratory and Aquarium

The morning will be spent exploring the MOTE Marine Lab and Aquarium, located in Sarasota. Lunch will be on your own; options include a diner within the aquarium or The Old Salty Dog restaurant across the street. For the afternoon, you will be able to explore St. Armands Circle, a shopping and dining area on Lido Key nearby the Aquarium.

RIVER VENTURES, CRYSTAL RIVER

Swim with Manatees Tour- Endangered Encounter

This manatee encounter and snorkel tour is world famous for a reason; there is nothing else like it! The refuge is comprised of springs and filled with unique wildlife. This tour on a covered pontoon boat allows you to see it all up close. This is a 3-hour tour to swim with the manatees. Mask, snorkel and fins included.  Lunch will be available after the tour at a nearby restaurant.

This trip includes transportation and entrance to the Tampa Lowry Zoo, lunch is on your own inside the zoo. Begin the day with a dolphin tour off Clearwater Beach, Fl.  It begins at 9am on the Little Toot, a 40-foot authentic tugboat. After the tour, spend time exploring downtown Clearwater and seeing the beautiful beach.  Lunch will be on your own; several local restaurants will be suggested.  Then you venture to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium for 2 hours, home to the famous dolphin Winter from the “Dolphin Tale” movies.

This trip includes transportation and entrance into the Fort De Soto Park as well as a provided lunch.  The largest park within the Pinellas County Park System, Fort De Soto Park consists of 1,136 acres made up of five interconnected islands (keys). These keys are home to beach plants, mangroves, wetlands, palm hammocks, hardwoods and scores of native plants.  There is a historic fort to explore and white sandy beaches to relax on.

 Begin this day by walking over to the Salvador Dali Museum, across the street from USFSP. Explore the famous Dali museum for 2 hours. Then a bus will bring you to the Morean Arts Center to view the Chihuly glass collection.  After exploring the collection, you will be brought to Beach Drive for lunch on your own.  Lunch suggestions will be made and then you can walk over to the Museum of Fine Arts.  The bus will bring you back to conference hotel at 3:30 pm.
